    Hi all. Just to keep everyone informed, below is a list of features we're planning for the next OneSwarm release. Thanks for all the feedback! If you want access to preliminary developer builds, you should enable developer updates (Settings -> Privacy Settings -> Advanced -> 'Check for developer updates'). (Keep in mind that it will take a while for us to get through all of these)

    - Fix 'waiting for handshake' bug that inhibits downloading if the client has been active for a while
    - Fix parallel connections being closed too aggressively (causes friends to be disconnected)
    - Set non-default save location during downloads
    - Support directory hierarchies
    - Secure point-to-point chat
    - Fix watch directory bugs
    - Multi-key import
    - Limit remote access based on IP ranges
    - Change remote access password method from crypt -> MD5 (for long password support)

    Update (2 April): We've started seeding developer versions of 0.6. Keep in mind that this version has been only lightly tested and is likely to have bugs. We'll continue to release developer updates over the coming days as we work out any issues that arise. Screenshot and version history.

    Assuming we don't have install new updates when available, how will we know when the developer build (or any new build) is available? Is this on program startup? Periodic?

    P.S.: Hopefully my question is clear: meaning, will it be a link to install the new version? Or a dialog box? Etc.

    A couple of features I would like to have:

    - A display of your own public key, either in the present Settings or in a new Profile (button in menu-bar, pop-up window, ...).
    - A somewhat easier user interface to manage your current (and possibly new) friends. Maybe a new Friends Management (button in menu-bar, pop-up window, ...) is the solution.
    - Set new friends as Limited by default.
    - Display a collapsed list of online friends (in left panel) by default. It is better to explicitly expand the list of friends when you really need it.

    Maybe make everything show in a folder tree while searching for files?

    What i see after search:
    + Whatever other folder
    + Miles Davis - Kind of blue
    + Whatever other folder

    Now i clicked the +:
    + Whatever other folder
    - Miles Davis - Kind of blue
    So What.mp3
    Flamenco scetches.mp3
    etc..
    + Whatever other folder

    When i dubble click a folder it should download that folder, logics.

    I'd like to see strict download / upload limits. Now when I use the limit, it will still transfer with more bandwidth and leave nothing for my personal use.

    I would love to have a function that indicate what kind of swarm access I have. Maybe not for 0.6d but it's an idea. Check my ideas in the Axxo index thread in 'general'. I imagine some sort of hit-rate % bar.

    Another idea:

    When you add a friend, the "limited" checkbox should be pre-checked. Good and safe pre-setting for newbies.

    We're working on these now. Developer updates implementing the first few of these should start percolating out next week. (should include multi-key import and directory hierarchies at first)

    you should make something like a "oneswarmkey:sdkuhfsg2jy4f23jt45f23hd23hj52"-link function.. so you just need to press it and it gets sent to oneswarm :) that would be great. and the "oneswarmkey:" could be in the friend-dialog itself so it always gets pasted...

    We will start releasing developer updates soon (you can enable checking for dev updates in the settings). We'll probably spend a few weeks implementing and testing the features that way before issuing a general update. So the timeline is probably on the order of weeks / a month (certainly not months or years between releases ;))

    How's 0.6 coming along? I've put together about 20 friends in a Oneswarm F2F net and we're just getting our feet wet with things. Would be nice to see some of them fixed. :) And chat.

    I did the (Settings -> Privacy Settings -> Advanced -> 'Check for developer updates') thing and got the Debug button. But didn't see the version number change at the bottom of the Web UI. Is it a newer version than 0.5?

    We were planning to release a developer update later today. Everything in the list above is implemented, we're just testing things internally this morning. I'll post a sticky with a link to a wiki page detailing how to enable dev updates (and some screenshots, etc) once we push things out. We appreciate your enthusiasm 8).

    Nice to see the update is live! BUT, all my friends disappeared when I updated. :( Any ideas how I get them back?

    Your friends are not really gone, and restarting will probably fix the problem. That said, we are fixing the minor quirk that causes this.
