   How to make the network stronger? it would be very good to encourage people to use 1s esp because us isps are soon getting aggresive on copyright notice and throttling people. maybe even i get noticed because downloading "let's share with others" look like illegal file for some reasons!?!

   tor gets strong because tor browser and vidalia are pretty much one click solution. but how does tor get the network strong without router configuring port numbers? i don't understand it.

   question- on 1s if your port isn't open can you still get keys from community server? if yes then here is an idea-- tor has exit nodes so what if 1s has "entry nodes?" if bob and i can trade keys we are friends, and if community server can tell me keys then we are friends. now if my ports are nailed shut all i need is some random server alice who take my encrypted traffic and forward it to bob on the 1s network. i tell bob remember alice's ip for me, but even then alice she cannot screw with me because bob encrypt with my key. now all alice need is to be in iceland or somewhere and she accept some bitcoins for big server loads and who cares who she is because everybody win! no?

   I'm not sure how it works exactly in tor or 1s, but most better p2p clients use nat traversal, and 1s is based on Azureus 3.0.5.2 which was known and good client. Nowadays NAT traversal techniques might be even better, not sure about the status in 1s. A good router should have enabled something what is called UPnP and that allows client software from inside network to temporarily open a port on the router and listen on it, thus no need to configure ports manually. There are of course other tricks how to get "direct" connection among two peers even if both are behind NAT (ie. not having public ip address). Sometimes it is neeeded for a "helper" with public IP address to help those two behind NAT to establish a conenction, not sure how is that implemented and maybe the information can be obtained without it - software needs to know routers public IP addresses and ports which it temporarily opened for normal "web" request and then "fake" the responose from each other to make it look like it came from another router, then while the connection lasts, those two can communicate as if they were connected directly. Hard to explain exactly, I have just a rough idea...

   Someone should clarify the status on NAT traversal in 1s.

   As ISP throttling bittorrent: enable protocol encryption, do not allow unencrypted connection, use proxy to communicate with tracker and also to access sites where you download .torrent files or magnet links, as some ISP might start throttling even on information that you recently accessed such web page or downloaded .torrent file, but this would be very rare and definitely reason to change ISP, at least for me. This is based on rumors which I heard, so believe it or not, I'm not also sure where the truth lies. Some ISP are said to even throttle bitlockers downloads...
