I've been trying to use OneSwarm but I don't think I've been successful in setting it up - I get errors about not being able to connect to the UDP port despite if definitely being open and some error about something not loading (I don't have it to hand).
I looked at the build instructions for Fedora on the Wiki and it says you need Sun JDK, does that mean I need to be running sun java? Why is it that Open JDK doesn't work?
Here's the warning I couldn't remember (*** Required thread seems to have died: OS Friend Connector)
The message that you got, "Required thread seems to have died: OS Friend Connector" advise you that the Oneswarm Overlay (the *osf2f*) was unable to be launched (/acceded by Azureus).
You should effectively have a try with the Sun JDK instead OpenJDK ...
[ I not sure that the latest builds (>= 7600) still work with the OpenJDK.
But the oldest builds (< 7600) were running with it (I did). ]
Well I'm running it with Oricle JDK now. unfortunately I still appear to be getting the same results. Failing NAT test and Required thread error.
Failing NAT is usual. Try to test your NAT at https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=12345 , where 12345 is your 1S UDP & TCP ports.
Try the Sun Java !
And if you still have the Required Thread Error, delete your 1S working directory (~/.OneSwarm for Linux or c:\Users\youself\AppData\Roaming\Oneswarm for MS-7) and restart 1S.

Thanks I had tried all of that except removing ~/.OneSwarm after installing SunJDK. Seems to be working now.
