I have a friend online on 1s who can't download files from me or vice versa? Anybody know why this is?

1) What platforms/operating-systems do you use?
2) Do you and your friend use UPNP for port-forwarding? If not: Are the necessary ports open on both sides of the connection?
3) What do you mean with "can't download"? Is it just that you can't download or can't you even search and find each others files? Are you and your friend shown as online in your 1S-Client to each other?Posted 1 year ago # -
I use windows 7. I am not sure what UPNP is, how do I know if I am using? I can see the files he is sharing and I can double click to start downloading one of his files but when I look at the progress in the transfers window I never start receiving data. When we are on the same wireless network (he is actually on wifi and I am plugged directly into the router) we show up on each others online friends list, but if we aren't on the same wireless network then we don't show up as online.
THanks :)

UPNP (Universal Plug'n'Play) is a feature in many webrouters, allowing you to open and close ports automatically. What's the name of your router?
Does the download not start, when being connected to the sam LAN either? Or is this an internet-only-problem?

For the record: A friend of mine had the same problem, deleting his profile-folder fixed it. Must 've been some kind of bug in 1S… :(

My router is a netgear WNR2000. The download will show up in my transfers page but it never proceed past 0%. I am not actually sure if the problem occurs when we aren't on the same LAN because he never shows up as online when he is on another network (this is actually true of all my manually added friends, they only show up as online in my friend list when we are on the same LAN).
Thx
