Tonight OS stopped working, popping up the message: "Überprüfung von "OneSwarm Core Update fehlgeschlagen: Signature missing from file". After pressing OK I can choose between "start again later" or "start again now". I choose to start again and several moments later the same error message occures again.

As I said earlier, if you're using the new version, auto-updates don't work. You should disable auto-updates if you're using the dev version I posted earlier today.

Yes, I know. I have deactivated all auto-update-options, but now OS is not able to start again. I deleted all files in the user/application support/OneSwarm and re-installed OS again (and again ...) but shortly after start in the Dock of the Finder I see that OS quits doing nothing. :-/

It doesn't work even if you replace OneSwarm.app in your applications folder? You might try searching your computer for OneSwarmAzMods.jar and make sure there's no copies lurking around.

The OneSwarmAzMods.jar is in the OneSwarm.app "package". It can not be opened. The OneSwarm.app can be opened, but it closes a few seconds after start, showing nothing. Are there any files I can delete before starting again? Maybe in the package, in the library/application support oder in the preferences or somewhere else?

I think deleting OneSwarm.app and dragging a fresh copy from the disk image should be sufficient.

Also, try rebooting your machine -- that never hurts in these situations 8)

Deleting, dragging new and rebooting I did several times, but that did not solve the problem, so I am now installing new MacOs. O.o

whoa! might be more than necessary :-). Does the console.app log (in /Applications/Utilities) show anything when you try to start OneSwarm?

Well, the new Installing of MacOs did not solve the Problem: OS opens and closes. Where can I get the 0.7.1.0 of OS? That one worked very well on my MacBook except for the freezes sometimes. Maybe the 0.7.5.0 is working in 64 bit machines only (the iMac is 64 bit and 0.7.5.0 works okay after the same error message while the MacBook is 32 bit only but ran the 0.7.5.0 until the error occured).

Yeah, it's 64 bit only (the new version would never have worked on a 32 bit machine) -- you'll need to use the older version from the DL page

Ah, okay! Where can I get the 0.7.1.0? That was the latest one that worked on the 32 bit Mac. BTW: I can not run my iMac for OS all the time (too much energy consumption), but the MacBook, so it would be nice to get a 32 bit version again (the MacBook is my server, running 24 h each day).

Actually, if you copy the OneSwarmAzMods.jar from the application package in 0.7.5 to the old 32-bit 0.7 installation, it should run fine (copy to OneSwarm.app/Contents/Resources/app) -- the reason 0.7.5 requires 64 bit is because we upgraded the SWT jar and JavaApplicationStub, but if you use the updated core jar with the 32 bit versions it should work. I do this on an old 10.5 machine.

Tnx, I will give it a try. :-) Edit: If I do so, the version number shown in OS will still be the old one, even if the .jar is a newer one?
Posted 2 years ago # -
nope, version number should be the new one

I replaced the file several times, copied from the iMac 0.7.5.0 to the MacBook 0.7.0.9 and that always tells me to still see the 0.7.0.9 !

try deleting the osf2f and osgwtui plugins from the plugins folder
Posted 2 years ago # -
I had a look into the .app package. I have found three different plugin folders, but the files you told me about can not be found. O.o
Posted 2 years ago # -
this should be fixed in the new DMGs available here: http://www.oneswarm.org/builds/OneSwarm.dmg

I copied the .jar to my 32 bit OS on the MacBook, but it still tells me to see the 0.7.0.9 version. OS is working with it in 32 bit that´s okay.
