   Hi

   I have 2 questions today :)

   1/ I need to seed a specific file as fast as possible. For this reason I would like to temporarily disable the seeding of other files. Is it possible to do this without having to unshare all the files (hashing them again after that would take hours) ? Is is possible also to stop friends forwarding, so as to use my upload bandwidth for seeding only ? Is there a way to prioritize the seeding of files ?

   2/ My OneSwarm client is connected to pairs not only on the internet (1 Mb/s UL) but also on my LAN (100 Mb/s). Via the Web UI I use to limit the BW offered to 1S to 80% of the total ADSL BW (around 80 kB/s). But on the LAN I could easily upload at 10 MB/s... How can I allow full speed for the LAN transfers and still limit the UL speed on the internet ?

   RE: (1) Seeding is already prioritized over forwarding, so this shouldn't be a problem (unless the seeding alone won't saturate your upload capacity.) At present, there's no way to prevent seeding of a specific set of files. As a work-around, you could change their permissions to disable 'all friends', and then add it back again.

   RE: (2) If you look at the settings, there are distinct values for LAN speed that should do what you describe.

   RE 1 : Disabling "all friends" in order to seed only some files is a workaround, but it is not easy to use as the visibility must be modified on a file basis. It would be great to be able to do this via the selection of several files all together. Another way would be to just temporarily stop sharing some files but I cannot find how to do this. The "stop" option in the web UI or in the classic UI just don't work : seeding stops a few seconds then starts again. Am I missing something here ? Anyway priority would be a great feature :)

   RE 2 : This is supposed to be done in the Classic UI, right ? In Tools / Options / Transfer / LAN, I selected the "Enable separate speed limits for LAN connections" box and set them both to 0 (unlimited", but it does not seem to work. Either the option is not working at all, or the LAN friend is still in the queue and will not download until it is his turn, which should not happen since I have a lot of available LAN bandwidth for him.

   RE 1 : In another topic Isdal said :
   "This is due to traffic prioritization, these are the rules:
   1. If seeding* and forwarding, always send seeding packets first, only forward using any spare capacity.
   2. If the upload (seeding* upload rate + forwarding upload rate) is over 90%: stop forwarding searches to avoid getting a higher forwarding load.)
   3. If the seeding* upload rate is higher than 90%, stop responding to searches until the seeding rate goes down (this is to avoid getting completely overloaded).
   *(I use the word seeding but it really is any upload of data you have locally no matter if the download is completed or not)"

   I think it would be great to be able to give high priority to a specific user or group of trusted users. This could be done by forcing the "ratio" to 0, or by giving always priority to transfers to trusted friends over regular untrusted friends. In my opinion, this could be considered as natural behaviour for a F2F network.
