It still creates the files, but they are not filled with data unless the data is actually downloaded using that additional source (before all of them ended up taking as much space as the original). To check how much space they use you need to right-click and check the "space on disk" value. This method saves a lot of disk copying as well.

I don't bother this data thing as long as the CS subscription is not fixed... :(
This bug is not new. When using MSIE one had the problem of having to rebuild the first CS subscription, which was erasing the previous one without saving anything only the 1S default settings of the new subscription.
This bug was not part of Firefox WebUI before 0.7.0.1, but Firefox had other issues that seem fixed. For instance if Firefox wasn't able to access the web (a fake proxy) it wouldn't show the swarmed files. This is not anymore a issue.
However, now, the previous MSIE issue is on Firefox too... and Safari. This is a big issue since one cannot make new friends from any CS. No way to manually check them and I don't want anything automatic. In fact CS subscription has ceased to work !
1S is not working the way it is supposed to and all the 1S network may get smaller and smaller as everybody upgrades. This issue must be corrected as soon as possible !
... Even worse:
when clicking on the friends, on the WebUI down the CS list,
as you try to save the CS settings you are proposed, whatever you check the default settings are saved with manual checking for friends unchecked, which means you'll get all those of that CS without asking. But the other friends waiting at the other CS will sit there impossible to retrieve or check as you will always get only the first CS to configure (and you will never be able to do so).The settings of the CS servers are still able to be modified when using the settings button of the WebUI and if all the CS have the manual friends unchecked everything will seem to work as before. However I want to be able to check in my friends manually.

Am I the only one with this issue or is nobody using 1S the same way I do ???

Use Safari... works for me.
Posted 2 years ago # -
No Safari doesn't work neither. Same problem.
I am quite sure alpahc you don't check manually your friends. This is why you don't see any difference. This bug was already there on 0.7beta for MSIE and maybe Safari too, all except Firefox.
Now Firefox has it. I am sure this is a WebUI bug, and it needs a fix.
It has been introduced with the 0.69 to 0.7 upgrade. If I check the list, the "Javascript optimization" may be the culprit.Posted 2 years ago # -
Nobody able to replicate the problem ?

In fact now that I am testing with MSIE, Firefox and Safari, there are plenty of issues, and new issues with the WebUI. Previous WebUI 0.69 or 0.700 were much better because usable.
It behaves like there were misinterpreted calls and a lack of filling well the variables from the dialog boxes at the return call. Even more dialog boxes are like unusable in Safari 5 as the screen is blocked and even the roller isn't working like in Firefox.
What about some real stuff like a plugin to the Classic UI that works and doesn't have to take care of every web browser odd behaviour.
Furthermore, I really dislike the WebUI kind of trust with encrypted, anonymized software, over untrustworthy piece of software like the web browsers are.
Take MSIE. It's the mean MS gets everything about any Windows user. This is legal. Anything else would be illegal.
Safari is Apple way to do the same.
Google Chrome is probably the less trustworthy of them all. The source shows how Google spies on web browsing. Some guys rebuild it from source after getting rid of that.
Opera would be great but what about the fact they are free and are still a company earning money...
And finally Firefox, their plugins, their commercial agreement with some web search engines. Most of 1S stuff is already implemented into Azureus, so called Classic UI.
WebUI is a pain for the users and the dev and it has been so from the very beginning without any progress.
It doesn't have to be replaced, only duplicated for its essential use in the Classic UI. I mean, search engine, community servers, friend list made into something reliable. Swarm list is already implemented.Posted 2 years ago # -
I check my friends manually but maybe not the way you do, I don't know...
I subscribed to 2 CS and checked that option for confirming manually friends (Settings\Network\Community servers\Edit\advanced), so I have a fixed number of limited friends I previously checked.
Posted 2 years ago # -
The way I used to do it was that I subscribed some CS and in each CS I checked the confirm manually friends. Then when I was clicking on the "You have XX friend updates", I used to get a list of those friends that I checked or unchecked and then I saved the result "You have XX friend updates" disappear and I get my new friends from the list.
Those I unchecked were coming back from the CS I subscribed only the next time I restarted 1S.
That's the way I was pleased to use 1S. Now I can't.
First, when I click on "You have XX friend updates" I get a CS subscription, whatever I do. Even if I subscribe to that already subscribed CS it will create a new subscription, replacing the older one, BUT it will not validate my options and will run with the default options, meaning I will get automatic confirmation for new friends. I will then have to click the "settings" button and "network" tab to modify those settings for good. This will be too late to prevent the whole bunch of new friends to be confirmed automatically.
Now this behaviour appeared in MSIE 8 (I am running Vista 64 professional) with the first 0.7beta but Firefox was still running the right way. This has changed since 0.7.0.6 or maybe 0.7.0.1 even in Firefox. Whatever MSIE, Firefox and Safari are used for the WebUI I get the same wrong behaviour now.Posted 2 years ago # -
I can confirm this huge bug is on every install of 0.7.0.6.
I just installed on a windows 7 32 bits (other system is Vista 64) Oneswarm 0.7.0.6 and I have the same behaviour and no way to manually confirm my new friends in WebUI whichever the browser I use. This could be a threat to the security and the anonymity.
Also even worse is the odd behaviour of the basic way to subscribe a CS as whatever the settings the CS will be at the beginning installed with the default settings with the the automatic list of friends. So DO NOT update to 0.7.0.6 until this is fixed. To prevent the upgrade for beta releases and keep on stable ones, you would have to check the settings, privacy tab.

The 'CS check manually bug' is confirmed for me : when i hit the link "you have N friend updates", i go directly in the same pop-up windows that when i hit the "Add friends" link in the Web-UI.
Another (minor) bug : the speed of the download showed in the Web-UI is wrong when there are more additional sources founded. Only the speed of the first download is showed, not the sum of all the sources.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Ok I understand Rafa. In fact if you have multiple sources, the WebUI shows only the main source download speed. I don't know if this is a bug. It depends on how the data check and the recollection is done. However the behaviour is wrong. Maybe the sum of the download speed should be showed but only the percentage of data of the main source.

@cronborg : let's Isdal decides ... ;)

New version out (0.7.0.7) that fixes the manually confirm friends issue: http://forum.oneswarm.org/topic/1500
Posted 2 years ago # -
@Isdal : the CS bug is (seems for me) fixed.
Have a look on the speed showed when different source swarms are used and the 0.7-stable will be ready to be Out.
/me waves by advance !!

Yeah ! Long live to Isdal !

New version out, 0.7.0.8
It will now show the speed you get from multi-torrent downloads. When downloading from multiple torrents it will show as (17KB/s + 500KB/s) in the web ui, where the second one is how much you get from the other torrents.
This value can vary a bit from the download speed of the other torrent, because bytes are only accounted for after then pass the hash check which requires that a piece is completed.
In the beginning of a transfer the rate is usually less that what is actually downloaded as data is downloaded into partially completed pieces, at the end it is usually higher as all those partial pieces complete.

Isdal, a remarq about the speed showed in the build 0.7.0.8.
The % value can not be visible from my configs when the download have different swarm sources (see http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/6260/speed1.png )
The only way to see it is to select the swarm (see http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/6058/speed2b.png )This more true when the two speeds showed in the box have tree digits each ;) : the % value is pushed out. :)
Can you enlarge the grey box where the % completion value and the speed are showed ?

* show the sum of the all speeds in case of additional swarm sources (Web-UI)
* final phase test for the new Hungarian internationalization (Web-UI)Hope this will be the 0.7-final ! ;)
But many internationalizations are not yet ready.

Please, on Linux, how installing the 0.7 version without loosing the configuration, friends and swarms of 0.6.9 ? What files do we need to save ?
ThanksPosted 2 years ago # -
all settings are stored in ~/.oneswarm/
so all you need to do is to unpack and run ./OneSwarm
Posted 2 years ago # -
Eh !! The *O.7-final* was officialy launched today !

Isn't this a privacy problem?
If I share file "a" with sha1sum "x" privatly and someone else shares the same file he can't get the information that I share file "a".Posted 2 years ago #
