We're starting to issue developer updates for version 0.7, with features described below. Do let us know if you encounter any bugs. Thanks!

* Recognizing identical files in distinct swarms for faster downloads
* Optional search keyword filtering
* Support for queuing chat messages to offline friends, chat bugfixes and UI improvements (window resizing, persistent position)
* Merged osf2f and gwtui plugins into the core jar -- eliminates the need for restarting twice during updates.
* Rewritten group management -- significantly improves responsiveness for users with large shares
* Swarms without permissions will be shown in the web UI in an error state with an option to repair
* Reduced the size of the web UI Javascript -- reduces load times
* Compression for remote access
* Fixed typos in several strings, improved internationalization support
* Fixed a bug that prevented default previews from being uploaded when publishing
* Fixed incorrect progress estimation when skipping some files in swarms
* Fixed potential hang on startup (DHT initialization)
* Improved UI support for internationalization

Update does not seem to work properly, after 0.7001 the torrents are only visible in classic and not web UI. And 0.7002 just wont install, it downloads, I restart, but then it says to download again.

We just fixed a few bugs in the initial release, so yes, you probably do actually need to update again.

To get the torrent to reappear, just press shift refresh and/or restart your browser. (The problem is that a cached, previous version of the web UI)

I tried to update but it didn't work, it tried to install it again and after a restart it seemed to work. When i try to download a file I click it. When it comes to 100% the box disappears and I can't download.

Something went wrong. I'll try the 0.69 again and see if I can restore function.

seems like there was a problem with the 0.7002 update. New update up, 0.7003... If no torrents show up in the web-ui, do a force refresh of the page with shift+F5. That should trigger the browser to clear any cached old files.

0.7002 seems to be working now, it's hashing lots of files though, but all my torrents are already there, will I get doubles?

I have updated successfully on my Mac. The settings seem to be okay. Now I wonder why all the hashed files are not shown. If I delete folders given free for sharing and press save, the old folders given free before reappear if I go into the settings or sharing tab.

the rehashing is for calculating sha1 of individual files for torrents that doesn't contain that information already (most non-oneswarm created torrents). If it slows down your computer you can limit it to for example 1 MB/s in the settings.

The sha1 hashes are used to help automatically find multiple torrents that contain the same file so you can use all sources, not only the ones with the exact same torrent hash.

Swarmy: Try to refresh the page with shift+F5 to make it clear the old cached files for the page.

isdal: Shift + F5 seems to do nothing on the Mac. BTW to reach F5 I must press Shift + fn + F5, but that doesn´t help too. :-/ rehashing seems to be impossible too because I can not deselect the old share folders (they always re-appear after saving). Edit: now I cleared the browser cache by its own, restarted OS but the page is white, nothing happens. O.o

ahh, you can hold down shift and click the refresh button in the browser ui instead.

Okay, I got it working now, but I think the way how to update and run OneSwarm successfully again will probably confuse people a lot. O.o

It is REALLY nice to have that !
Only disappointment is the way that it's implemented. I just wished it doesn't duplicate every single file for witch it finds an additional source...

Awesome new release! I was hopefuly the remote streaming bug would be fixed, but I guess I will have to continue to wait and see. But seriously though thank you for the new release this software is truly awesome.

One thing I noticed is that if OneSwarm finds an additional source then it creates a new directory for that in the folder the original file is being downloaded. If this is a directory which is also being autoshared then OneSwarm starts hashing the new directory. Can this pose a problem?

I have 3 Ubuntu Karmic boxen, 1 update succeded, 2 failed: the "oneswarm updater" window does not work, the udate button has no effect. Where could I look for error logs?

edit: ok, ~/.oneswarm/logs/

On my ubuntu 9.10 i sometimes need to click the 1s dialog buttons, to make them active, then press enter to actually get an effect... strange.

Else... the new version felt snappier immediately while still reindexing 22 swarms - good work! Not to talk about when I started to download a file that also existed in an compilation I have already downloaded... The file was just instantly there! cool. But... Have not checked yet, bu do You us hardlinks on these occasion when possible?

And any news about headless operation?

A fixed 0.7-dev would be nice.

The last build, the more crual, help for found sources but 1S want not hash anymore : he's unusable. :(

Have no problem with 1S later dev 0.7. I call it stable. However there is still plenty of unachieved work and bugs in the WebUI. Maybe that's why it's called 0.7 not 1.0

1S was one heck of good program but now days VPN services are taking over. I will convert my download system to VPN since finding good material on 1S is nowdays impossible.

Just sent out a dev update (version 0.7.0.6 (sorry for the double update... and the delay...)), fixes include:
* significantly better multi-source downloads (if you disabled them, give them a new shot now)
* fix to an issue when search responses were created (thank to Johan for sending a patch)
* Fix to the safari 5 bug
* Fix to the "remote access streaming stops after 5 min" bug
* Fix to the "no downloads showing after upgrading to 0.7" bug, it will now display the "client has stopped" message and a normal refresh should be enough.
* various other fixes

If you notice any bugs, post a description in this thread.

I'm so glad you got rid of the "additional sources" system witch would allocate additional swarms on HD, thus eating away disk space. I will reenable them now :)
