Online friend often shows as offline

I have an unlimited friend who is online (like me) 24/7. However, he shows as offline for long periods. Is this normal 1S behavior?

Firewalls can show strange behaviour

Example... a firewalled user has been online for 1 day.. and you get online.
Then you will not reach that person until his 1S has gone through its list of users and actually try to connect the other way.

Also this checking for new connections only occour like once every 30minutes, but it can take longer. This is because Windows has a limit on how many connections you try every second (most 10 are allowed to send sync requests... in real life that gives about 7 sync requests at the same time). If a friends list is REALLY big (like if you paste 3000 keys from the forum without them adding you) then it could take several hours until a connection is tried.

A tip to everyone: Do not add keys manually that you do not know will add you back. Having more than 100 limited friends in your list that have not connected for a month is useless.
