Frequent crashes on OSX 10.4

I've been getting frequent crashes since late 2009. 1S may crash instantly upon launch, or run for as much as 6 hours.

I've taken every conceivable step short of re-installing the whole OSX:
clearing all 1S settings except friend data
    re-installing OneSwarm
    downgrading to 0.6.7
    re-run OSX 10.4 java updater 9

Prior to this OneSwarm was working just fine - this mac still runs great in every other aspect. The problem seems to be triggered by traffic in general or accessing shares: after clearing all settings I thought for a minute that the problem was solved. Once I started adding popular shares, it reappeared however.

The only triggering events that I can think of are
    1. changing my network setup, switching from a router to a straight connection.
    2. the upgrade to 0.6.9 (though this one is pretty much debunked as I've tried downgrading)

If you believe the system is damaged and needs to be reinstalled, then that's what I'll do. I'd just like to eliminate the possibility of a bug in OneSwarm.

    System:
    iMac G5 2GB
    OSX 10.4.11 (Build 8S165)
    JVM 1.5.0_19-138

OK now I've re-installed the OS twice (it's not that hard, after all) AND run the Apple Hardware test, which was passed so no luck there. Stability did improve when removed the community server, and is now tolerable. Finally, however, I've at least found a reproducible issue which explains why my preview jobs stall indefinitely.

Hmm, this sounds like a Java bug. Did these problems arise after a particular Java update to OSX? (Is there anything in the error.log that looks suspicious right before the crash happens? This file is in: /Users/media/Applications/OneSwarm.app/Contents/Resources/app)

Also, just to be clear, you're using OneSwarm 0.6.9?
