The upcoming version of OS X has a few Java bugs that break OneSwarm (and other Java-based apps). We've posted a work-around here:

Update: We're working now on a patch that doesn't require downgrading java and plan to issue a dev update including this early next week. Stay tuned.

when do we get the Snow Leopard compatible version of OneSwarm? My use of OneSwarm is in pause state since MacOS 10.6. :-(

I tried to do the workaround but Terminal says "wget: Command not found".
I just manually downloaded the file and moved it to the system folder manually, and then did the last step in Terminal and set the Java preferences, and it works.
But just wanted to let you know that the instructions as you have them written did not work for me because of that wget command.
good catch. BTW -- there's a developer update out now that works on Snow Leopard without replacing your Java install. If you want to turn on dev updates, there's a setting to do so in Settings -> Privacy -> Advanced
I changed the settings to check for Dev updates, but when does it do so, and how will I know? changed it a while ago and have no indication that it has checked or updated...
You can trigger an update check by restarting OneSwarm.

Thanks for allowing people who need it to move to java 1.4 even in SL.
The thing is, java 1.5 is working fine, but the one I need (1.4) fails when called after installing following your instructions. This is the error:
Error: no known VMs. (check for corrupt jvm.cfg file)
