You can choose a proxy server for internet browsing. You can try to use TOR (the onion router) or JAP to get anonymity. You can also try the Ants network. I personally think that the friend-to-friend-net is a good choice. People are sharing their personal OneSwarm keys in the forums here. Please keep in mind that you can set your "friends" to the limited state, shown by a yellow (L), so they can not see what you do. They can not see any files on your PC, can not see if you are doing uploads or downloads. If you like to tell them your shared directory, you can set them to "unlimited" which is shown by a green light.

Alright, I have no one at all to join the network with. I don't know a single person to join. I'm a person that keeps to myself, and don't talk to anyone, so it's hard for me. What other options are there to keep anonymous since the friend thing won't work? I live in a group home, and that's even difficult trying to find someone. I hope you can give some other options.

If you like to download software by a classic torrent file, you will never be anonymous, no matter which torrent client you use. To get the requested file you need IP connections to other people and in fact of this it is a risk. The only way to become anoymous is to join a network like OneSwarm. Normally you should add real friends only, people you know in real-life, people you really trust. Without any friends you don´t get any connections and you can´t get anything out of the OneSwarm net, except for the non-anonymous classic way of downloading from a torrent file.

Would it possible to use OneSwarm as a client for torrents/magnet links instead of the "friends" thing? Or anyway even if it's not using it as a client, but without the "friends", and still keep anonymous? Honestly, the friend thing won't work. I'm looking for something that 100% could still download, and without a requirement to have friends on that list first to download.

Would this be possible with OneSwarm? Or would I need to look somewhere else?

Well, an easy way to get in touch with some "friends" will be to subscribe to the OneSwarm comunity server in the settings tab of OneSwarm!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum!

Could I use OneSwarm without making friends? I'm on a Windows 7 32-bit desktop PC. I'm looking to use OneSwarm in replace of torrents since they are in trouble, and are closing down. Could I use OneSwarm by searing for albums, and download complete albums? Or how does that exactly work? I'm into music. I'm new to OneSwarm, and it's hard for me to find friends. I really don't know if someone would recommend doing this as open by searching for a particular artist, or even a particular album?

I appreciate if someone could reply back by helping me!

Thank you,
