Hi! First, thanks for this programm who seems to be really interesting, specially for us in france, with all our internet control laws. But I even can't open the programm installer. I'm on mac os x 10.5.8, and the installer (OneSwarm_0_6_9_m) refuse to extract files from installer to applications location. When I click on the installer, programm tolds me that he can't open file directory:

"/Applications/OneSwarm.app/Contents/Resources/app/ffmpeg
Could not create this file, shall I try again? "

Not only for ffmpeg, but for each files in the installer.
To make clear, it's the first programm who refuse to be install on my mac, I have the last version of Java, and I have already tried to download again the installer.
If someone has already had this problem, I will be happy to finally install oneswarm !!

It seems to happen with every video regardless of format. Most are mpeg4s some are H264 files. It doesn't seem to matter. All even say no convert needed when looking at file info in swarm details. Most all my files are in avi or mkv containers. Here is some example info from one:
Bit rate
1.1 Mbit/s
Container
avi,
Duration
no, convert needed
Audio codec
Audio sample rate

This has already been posted in troubleshooting, but others have confirmed so wanted to post here as well. When attempting to watch a video through remote access video will cut off after approximately 1 to 2 minutes of transcoding. This bug is noted on Ubuntu Linux based machines. Has not been confirmed on other OSes as of yet.

Steps to reproduce
1. Login with remote access
2. Select a video and begin streaming
3. wait approximately 1-2 minutes transcoding will stop and video will be cut off.

I can use/see the Web UI, but the classic UI no longer appears when I select “show Classic UI” from the toolbar icon.
I believe the problem was started when I enabled the “Start Minimized” option from in the classic preferences. Now, there is no way to disable that option, because I cannot get the preferences panel to show.
I looked at the config files, but they are in a scary non-text format.

Folders which names end with space can be shared, but not browsed or downloaded by other parties.

Steps to reproduce:
Create a folder with some content, give the folder a name that ends with a space; for example "test "
Share the folder.

This folder cannot be seen when friends browse your swarms, it can't be found when searching for it by hash, either.

The sharing party must be using a filesystem which supports filenames to end with space, I've only tested it with HFS+.

Same problem here, I did noticed that before, but i thought it was related to my server ( eeepc 701 :p).
I tried on my own computer and same issue after around 1 mn of preview , ffmpeg process disappears, flash player shows full buffered bar. My two computers are on ubuntu. It's a problem with remote access, in local it's ok. ( even accessing with remote access on the local computer does this).

Ok, I am not sure if this is a bug or my network just giving me problems. I am trying to stream some files from my machine at home remotely using oneswarm. I can start playing the video and randomly and on any video file I play it will stop buffering/streaming after a certain point and will then skip on to the next video in the list even though the first didn't finish.

I know this because I can see the buffer bar filling up as it is playing and then all of the sudden the buffer bar shows as though it is full when there is no way that can be true and the video stops and proceeds to the next. Any help would be greatly appreciate!

Thanks!

@Raf and Piatek.
In fact there is no point in doing that unless people connect to new members automatically. I doubt this should be the default setting even if it is so when you subscribe to a new server.

I only subscribe to new members when I feel my connected friends list is getting low, about less than 15. Then I'm choosing those that I find their name interesting. After that, I block them depending on the data I get from their IP and my mood. Very few pass the test.

Also I must admit Rafa is right about the number.
I already count 23 potential friends from planetlab on my list of more than 250, considering there's been some time now that I can sniff them by their name to avoid them.

I have switched build systems to Maven, so all you have to do to build everything is now:
mvn package

I've also written some unit tests which Maven will run implicitly before actually packaging anything on "mvn package".

"mvn package" will give you three jar files that you can drop into the OneSwarm distribution directory to run with your new creation.

Eclipse projects are now created with "mvn eclipse:eclipse".

Please see the complete instructions (they are short) at http://launchpad.net/oneswarm.

Hi

I installed OneSwarm yesterday but I feel that I'm missing something. Me and a friend is trying this out.
1. Is it not possible for me to browse his directories? Now I see filename och tags
2. Why is the webpage reloading constantly? When I scroll down everything reloads and I endup at the top of the page again.
3. We have really bad speeds and be both have 10 mbit up/down. What are we doing wrong?
4. I'm running MacOSX, how do I access "Classic UI"?
